"We know achieving fire rating in your project is vitally important, and so we've got you covered. We've recently had a variety of our downlights tested to conform with fire regulations in new builds.

A number of fire resistance tests have been carried out at both 30 and 60 minute durations and in accordance with BS EN 1365-2: 2014 on a load-bearing floor protected by a plasterboard ceiling.

Our LP3 GU10 lamp range is compatible with many of our fire rated open back downlights including the ORL6009, ORL1009, ORL1019 and more.

On this unique challenge they'll be heading to Rovaniemi in Finland and spend three days trekking into the Arctic Circle. This Arctic trek is not for the faint hearted. They’ll be pulling all of their own kit in a pulk, battling against the elements, and sleeping in tents.

Orlight is honored to be commended for Architectural Luminaire Interior by Lighting Design Awards 2019. Orlight is grateful for the recognition we have received for our engine product range.

The DB-R999 engine range is available in three outputs 6W, 8W, 13W, each of which has 2700K, 3000K, and 4000K options. When developing the R999 our primary goal was to create an LED engine with the best light quality on the market, balanced with an efficacy that made it sustainable solution for a wide range of situations. We believe that we achieved our objective by developing and engine that has both a CRI of 98 with an R9 of over 93 and an efficacy of up 113lm/W. The DB-R999 engine package is built to be compatible with a 50mm halogen lamp, so can be used as a retrofit solution or can be used with any downlight that would be compatible with an MR16 or GU10 lamp. The DB6-R999 is only 26mm tall and at over 500 lumens is a direct replacement of traditional domestic halogen lamp. At 65mm tall the 1400 lumen DB13 engine is still suitable for shallow ceiling voids.

Orlight speeds up the manufacture and delivery of lighting products to St Edwards’ Kensington Row project, in order for the Affordable housing Blocks to be completed in time for Grenfell’s Residents.

Located in the heart of Kensington, the new permanent housing originally expected to be completed in September 2017, is now due to be completed ahead of schedule, by the end of July 2017.

The Chelsea Creek development offered Orlight the opportunity to create a bespoke bridge solution with integrated lighting feature. Working alongside Broadway Malyan and St George, Orlight are pleased to have contributed to this exceptional design and consequent supply of the walkway lighting solution. Our Marine Grade recessed fixtures, ORLLM760 and ORLLM88-2, not only helped contribute to a stunning feature but provide an ambient light, bringing this concept to life.

Orlight and smart-home division Orcomm have won the contract to supply a unique project with award winning residential developer Weston Homes at Denham FilmStudios. The 11.94 acre site features a Grade II listed Art Deco main laboratory and head office building, built in 1936 and designed by Walter Gropius for film producer Alexander Korda. The site will be transformed to create an exclusive residential development.

Orlight and Orcomm have combined to supply lighting and smart home solutions for 224 converted and newly built homes. The new development will feature a restored cinema with bar and a community space. Orcomm expands its popular Digitex range of lighting control products with the introduction of a variety of metal finishes including chrome, stainless steel, bronze and brass. Orcomm is also pleased to announce the introduction of new facia styles including the premium facia "Digitex-Lux"

Orlight are in the process of supplying Lumenflex Side and Lumenflex Top linear led solutions throughout the Ritz Carlton in Kazakhstan. The 2700K colour temperature products are being supplied in a variety of factory finished lengths up to a maximum of 10M complete with dali controlled drivers. The Lumenflex range is free of any led trail and designed to cope with tight curve requirements in vertical and horizontal planes. The IP 68 rating makes each option perfect for use in bathrooms and other areas of high condensation.

To ensure project designers are supplied with complete and detailed information, the Orlight Lighting Design team have developed Orlight Revit family files for use in Building Information Modelling.

BIM is a crucial support employed to assist the design, construction and operation of buildings. It’s use provides designers with complete product information, enabling design decisions to be made in tandem with all other services.

BIM is an obligatory requirement for the design of government buildings introduced to provide significant efficiencies and cost savings. Subsequently the advantages have been realised and adopted by the private sector who recognize the advantages of a common information platform.

The Orlight team are fully trained and able to support the procedure and therefore help the customer reduce design and time associated costs.

Stunning three hoop pendants, the circular framework fabricated from aluminium then powder coated white to specification, house Orlight’s flexible Lumenflex top fixtures.
 
Special Cinti pendants then hang from the circular frames and are washed with light from above.
 
The IP 68 rated Lumenflex top 3,000K light source has an output of 450 lumens / M and provides controlled illumination to the lounge areas.

A carefully considered strip detail provides a theatrical feature to the staircase at the marketing suite of the Beaufort Park Development in North West London.

Minimal form VITA 1 and 2 downlights Introduced during October to compliment the extensive range of magnetic downlights available from Orlight. The VITA 1 and 2 surface mounted fixtures are compact with clean and minimal lines. The single fixture is a perfect 100mm cube, the double fitting is simply twice the width at 200mm long. Both fixtures are available in satin white RAL 9016. The fittings house GU10 lamps which are retained magnetically within the fittings in a position flush with the face of the fixture. This system provides ease of maintenance and allows for 360 degree rotation and a tilt angle of 30 degrees.

Featured this month are Orlight’s two new advanced track lights which truly reflect the high quality of design and engineering to be found within the product range. Giacomo Cinti, Orlight’s product design manager is very pleased with the result of his teams many hours of deliberation and careful sampling.
The initial concept was Inspired by futuristic yet minimal forms and combines carefully considered and calculated thermal management to ensure a safe touch temperature to make those everyday adjustments that are needed with track lighting.

The design is compact and composed primarily of precision turned materials which ensures a top quality build finish and stylish aesthetic.
The fittings house a CREE CXA 1512 Chipset, a high quality chipset ensuring that colour binning available up to two step Macadam Ellipse is consistent and with TM21 Projection for chip lifetimes in excess of 50,000 hours at L70. Considering their small size, the fitting also house integral drivers.
There are currently 2 options in the range encompassing both 3000k and 4000K, the 15W producing 1500 lumens and the 35W producing 3500 lumens with both fittings being 240V dimmable.
Further variation to the fitting can be gained when you consider the optic, each fitting has a boxed optional 24, 38 and 60-degree beam angle optic that can further enhance the fitting allowing for complete customisation for the end user.

Complete versatility is provided as the fittings fully rotate and tilt to 60 degrees with position on the track easily enabled by the loading & removing from the track via the integral adapter.

Precision and versatility are the predetermining requirements for this product and the Orlight Tracklight Range offers this to end users bowing down to every single design requirement sought!

The Orlight Bespoke Projects division have delivered and installed three bespoke lighting solutions for the Chelsea Creek residential development. Each measuring up to 5 meters in length and spanning over three floors, the Orlight chandeliers have transformed the corridor atrium. Each chain linked piece of the chandelier is softly lit with Orlight’s IP68 Rated Lumenflex-Side to provide a centre piece attraction for the building. Although the installation of three 5 meter chandeliers over water and between three floors was a difficult task to accomplish, it was achieved with the assistance of Orlight engineers and the ingenuity of the bespoke design that Orlight are proud to showcase.

Weeks of ingenuity have culminated in the bespoke creation of the Cinti Chandelier. By adapting our pre-existing Cinti pendant lights and merging them with a brand new in-house construction process, Orlight has been able to accommodate and deliver sixty nine luxury pendants, at a max height of three meters, within a two meter housing base. Designed and manufactured in-house in the UK, the project lead time and cost has been reduced dramatically by using Orlight’s in-house bespoke manufacturing department. This tailored product is just one of many currently being constructed in the UK.

After a successful debut at the Light Middle East 2015 showcase in Dubai, the Lumenflex XL has already become a staple for much of Orlight’s clientele. Even at its new size, the linear LED has retained the versatility of its predecessors, and is available in tailored lengths of up to five metres with five junction profiles. At 80mm wide, the five colour temperatures still offer a uniform and even light source with no LED hotspots. This latest innovation was pushed by client demand and the Lumenflex XL is just another example of an increasingly adaptable range of products.

Orlight’s UK based in house Light Lab has recently acquired the latest available goniophotometer, capable of generating LDT files within seconds. Our latest acquisition, which provides detailed information on both photometric and electrical parameters as well as creating LDT files, will be used to generate even more detailed and in depth datasheets for our entire lighting portfolio.

This latest addition to our in house testing facility reduces the normally painful and drawn out process of creating LDT files, which can take up to 3 hours. We can now produce an accurate LDT file within 60 seconds, making the information more accessible within a shorter timeframe.

The amazing Tempus LED fixtures produce incredible light from their tiny vortex-shaped cones. Available in two sizes and finishes; the 3W Tempus Mini is only 36mm in diameter and produces up to 220 Lumens, while the more powerful 7W Tempus is 43mm and produces 500 Lumens Both are available in aluminium and white finishes. Rated to IP54 these are the ideal light for the bathrooms and stylish interiors.

The Eagle features a great example of Orlight's project-specific bespoke manufacturing capabilities. As well as supplying the general internal and external lighting for this elegant landmark, we created and supplied OVO; a 2.5 Meter wide, IP68 rated ceiling fixture for the Spa area. The floor area was also illuminated by ORL2736 that had been finished in black for this project. For the lobby area we had to engineer the unique MAYA luminaire to the client's specification.

Orlight has now fully relocated its headquarters to its new facilities based in Hertfordshire, with easy access to sites all around London.
Orlight has secured a further 20,000 Square foot of warehousing and office space to double the size of its distribution, production and office facilities to over 40,000 square feet in addition to its existing centrally located London showroom.
The new facility incorporates the state of the art LightLAB2 equipped with the latest testing machinery, as well as updated in-house engineering and production faculties.

Ceiling voids are getting tighter and tighter and it is becoming an increasingly common problem where standard GU10/MR16 fixtures are not viable for these reduced ceiling voids. The only option up to now has been to use solid state fixtures. However, Orlight has now created a slimline range of our most popular magnetic downlights by combining them with the slimmer MC2SL GU10 connector to substantially reduce their overall height.
The height of the fixture can be further reduced by using our range of Nano, Micro & Mini Diablo & Divino engines, enabling the use of magnetic downlights in voids as small as 41mm.

Orlight is proud to have supplied over 3500 custom-made SASI LED panels to the unique Park House building located in the heart of Oxford Street. This 12-week fast track CAT A commercial fit out, was supplied within 9 weeks of receiving the order.
The 3500 DALI addressable SASI LED panels were created in two sizes, manufactured specifically for fitting on levels 2,3,4,5,7,8 of the Park House. The 1400x300 and 1050x300 SASI panels were built to size, fitting precisely into the ceiling grid and providing continuous light across the full panel span.
Orlight had the opportunity to shine against competing products that comprised of standard panels placed within a metal fabrication, leaving both ends uniit.
